By investigating the early stages of a game between 3-4 kyu players, Lepinskie has tried to draw out some basic principles about forced plays. Please stay tuned for more interesting updates from theGoConnection!

I gave this a while ago on KGS. The kibitz is included for context (though abridged a bit and sans names). A tip: variation numbers in the top right of the eidego viewer are helpful for navigating branches.

The topic is two space extensions, illustrated with eleven professional fuseki examples ranging from Go Seigen, past Kobayashi Koiichi to Chang Hao, and that’s without romanising any Korean names.

Also shows some common early-fuseki contexts for the distant low approach, which I’m sure you’ll get the chance to try yourself!

You can check it out here or in our Study Stuffs section stage left.
